Recently, I have been having more and more conversations with people about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an amazing technique for clearing trauma and eradicating irrational negative beliefs so that you can get back to living your life more fully. Many of the people I’ve been speaking to have personally experienced the benefits of EMDR and have had similar responses, telling me that EMDR really helped them in ways that talk therapy has not been able to. For this quarter’s newsletter, I thought I’d write about the power of EMDR, educate those of you who do not know about this technique yet, and share its awesome benefits. I’ll let you know more about what it is, how it works, and how it can help you. Continue reading →
I hope this newsletter finds you well, happy and ready for spring—a season of fresh renewal and new beginnings! It’s the perfect time to see how things are growing in your relationships with those you really care about—including yourself. How have you been experiencing love lately? Are you feeling connected, fulfilled and happy with the way things are going with your loved ones? Are you able to take in their love and also experience your own? In my opinion, how deeply you feel connected to yourself, to others and to your life source is the most important factor when it comes to life satisfaction. Now is the time to be conscious of these connections so that you feel like you are living your life fully—taking risks, allowing yourself to be vulnerable in the right ways, and growing and evolving into the person you most want to be. Time seems to move faster and faster as we age and it’s challenging to keep up with all of the things we long to do, have, and experience. I used to feel stressed and overwhelmed by this thought, but now I try to use it to motivate me, help me discover what I want, and nudge me through my resistances into taking action to create my life to the fullest.
So as the year draws to a close, making way for the new one, I like to spend some time in reflection and check in with myself about where I am and where I’m headed. I ask myself: What am I going to take away from 2010? How do I feel about the way I managed the past year? Am I feeling proud, content or in some way satisfied? What am I going to bring into 2011? Are there some things I’d like to bring into 2011 to make it more memorable or to help it go more smoothly and easily? Continue reading →
Life ebbs and flows like the currents in the ocean. One thing you can count on is that things are constantly changing, one thing transitioning to the next. Sometimes things go calmly and smoothly, bringing us a feeling of peace, contentment and fulfillment. Other times life may feel bumpy and turbulent, creating in us a sense of unpredictability, powerlessness, or a lack of control. No one really likes traveling through these rough waters, but that is the nature of life. It’s what we all experience at different times during our lives. How we manage these challenges often determines our future-where we are going and how we are going to land. Continue reading →

Summer has arrived! It is the perfect time to relax, be playful and lighten up. When we are in this state of being, our bodies and minds are relaxed and open and we can more easily access our true selves. We’re more receptive to the positive energy around us and that allows us to really take in all that life has to offer. When we are constricted, stressed out, ambivalent, or in conflict with ourselves or others, it is nearly impossible to take in love, compliments, successes and all other good things. Although we want to believe these positive things deep inside, we struggle in our ability to receive them. Continue reading →
Recently I’ve become aware that when I am struggling with difficult feelings or negative beliefs I often start trying to fix myself. I’ve realized that I do this in an attempt to counterbalance my feelings of insecurity. Maybe I’m not feeling “enough” in some area of my life, so I compensate by trying to be “more.” Then what happens is that I get bogged down, distracted for long periods of time, and I end up not doing the things that will get me what I truly want. Does this sound familiar? If so, I’d like to tell you how to work with this issue and learn to live from a more authentic, effortless place of alignment within. Continue reading →
Believe it or not, the holidays are upon us again. I’ve noticed, as an adult, the more holiday seasons I experience the better equipped I feel at managing and even enjoying them when I come from a centered place within myself. This year, it seems like the holidays really came fast. For me, this provides an opportunity to embrace and transform another layer of stress-by practicing tuning into what my wants and needs are and staying connected with my core self. Continue reading →
So, how did it go with last issue’s practice of increasing attunement with your core self? Have you been experiencing more ease, acceptance and patience in your relationship with yourself? Often, when you put these practices to work you will feel instantaneous results, but don’t get discouraged if you haven’t felt them yet. It can take some time, as well as patience and more practice. Most importantly, don’t give up! In the long run, this practice is going to be the most important thing you do. Continue reading →
