Getting Over a Past Love?

Are you having difficulty letting go of a past love? You may feel that you will never find love like this again. Ending a relationship with someone you have truly loved is like grieving a death. This requires going through a mourning process, gradually letting go of the person and the relationship in order to regain your sense of self esteem, power and control. It takes time, but there are things you can do to make the process easier, finding relief, hope and openness along the way.

Often when people struggle to get over a past love they protect themselves by shutting a part of themselves down, keeping other potential partners at bay. “Who wants to get hurt like that again?” you may say to yourself. Unfortunately that can stop you from creating the relationship you want in the future.

It is important to be “awake” through those difficult feelings, being aware of what is truly going on inside you. When you bring conscious awareness to your pain, you can fully process and release it. By doing this you create a clear space to manifest the relationship that you truly want. Old wounds no longer interfere with your fulfillment, happiness and wellbeing. Therapy helps you process the pain and grief, shifting your energy so that you feel whole and more confident as you move on in your life.
